Kentucky Roots

Season Two
Episodes 1 & 2
Kathryn and Bryan

Young couples are mobile, and on this episode we’re in the home of Kathryn and Bryan, who left their hearts in Kentucky. With their first child on the way, they’re looking for a way to make their baby feel as if they've never left the Bluegrass state. It’s a challenge a lot of families face: keeping reminders of home while living elsewhere. For them, home brings memories of barns and horses and music, and we’ll be adding elements of all those things in baby's first home. It will be a great way to keep everyone connected, even while putting down roots elsewhere. We’ll be working with some reclaimed wood directly from Kentucky, building a wall map and window treatment. We’ll also recreate this Rocking Horse—this one is on loan from a friend—and we'll making some barn door storage bins. Plus, we'll have a few more projects to finish this trip down memory lane to welcome our Bluegrass Baby.
